Landscape practice drawings on newsprints.
Willow charcoal has good quality and fun to play with. It is soft and chalky, and therefore, it can be rub off quite easily. It is good for quick sketches (1-2 minute) and warm up exercises. For more sustained drawing you can even spray the drawing with fixative intermittently.
I found two sample silverpoint ground solution made by Golden Artis Colors and I decided to give it a try. I applied this solution on a Chartpak AD Marker paper. The surface is quite smooth and very friendly to the silver. Here is a sketch on this silverpoint ground.
